People come to the Blues for all sorts of reasons. Some already know the game. Some have never picked up an oval ball. Some are looking for competitive footy, while others are just curious to see what it’s about. A few get dragged along by a friend and somehow stick around for years.
A Blues season starts with preseason, learning the game, getting fitter and figuring out how all the pieces fit together. Then summer arrives and the football gets serious. There are game days around Ontario, tournaments, road trips, club events, post-game hangs and plenty that happens away from the scoreboard.

Not everyone comes to the Blues looking for a representative pathway, and they don't have to. But it's there for players who want to see where their footy can take them.

Australian football is played on an oval with an oval ball, combining kicking, handballing, marking, running and tackling.
There are rules to learn, skills to pick up and a few things that only really make sense once you've seen them in action. Our coaches and experienced players help new players learn from the ground up. Give it a few sessions and the game starts to make a lot more sense.
