The Central Blues are proud to report that the club will be well represented during this years OAFL Canada Football Carnival with a raft of players representing in all sides to play on the day. The OAFL Canada Football Carnival has become one of the biggest in-season events during the OAFL calendar which sees the league showcasing some of the best talent the league has to offer in all categories. The main event includes a match up of the leading senior Canadian players in the Team Canada Northwind squad facing off against the OAFL All-Stars (generally a side made up of Australian talent). Generally the All-Stars have had the better of the Northwind sides - but it is expected that this years game will be much closer - with an injection of new Canadian talent as well as a fresh game plan with new coach Emile Studham taking over the reigns from the revered Mark "Flash" Block. The OAFL Rookies will be represented with a Southern Rookies V Northern Rookies game. The Southern rookies will be made up of rookies from the Roos, Hawks, Rebels and Blues, while the Northern rookies will consist of players from the Eagles, Swans, Demons, Gargoyles, Wildcats and Dingos. This fixture last year was an electrifying game with the rookies putting on a show of exciting footy with players taking on the game at full speed. This year's crop of rookies looks to be the best yet with a host of 17 year olds making up the sides adding further interest as it's expected that these boys will be taking their respective clubs into the future. Lastly but not least - the Blues Womens Program which was officially kicked off this season will be playing a Womens Exhibition game. Bruce Parker has worked tirelessly in the last two years in setting up this program and this season has seen the fruits of his labour along with the assistance of some committed women with the Blues Womens team travelling around North America and playing some of the best teams on offer. The Central Blues Football Club is extremely proud of the Womens Program and sees this as being a huge part of the ongoing development of the Blues footy club. The club would like to congratulate the following players for their selection and wish them all the best on the day.
