Round 2 saw some serious footy being played as clubs continue the early season jostle before settling into their groove. The Blues Div 1s and 2s continue on their unbeaten streak. The 1s celebrated the 50th game of Daniel Zimmerman's career as well as the farewell of Mark Dobson in style with a handy win over rivals Wildcats. While the Blues 2s defeated the Etobicoke Roos ressies. Round 3 is yet another exciting weekend of footy with a triple header at the UTSC ground involving both Blues sides.

Division 2 Games:

Roos Reserves V Rebel Dogs: Both these sides have not hit their straps just yet. The Rebel Dogs got smahsed against the Hawks 2s last week, while with the injuries in the Roos Div 1s has meant that their 2s have been playing shorthanded so far this season. A win for either side will be a massive morale booster for these clubs and both these sides will be hungry for the battle ahead.

Prediction: Roos to win this on experience. 3 goals.

Blues Reserves V  Quebec Saints: The Saints will be playing their second game for the season after having a bye in Rnd 2. These two sides also play for the Parker-Anderson Cup (named after the two players who founded their respective clubs), so with the added incentive of some silverware on the line, the competition on the pitch will be ferocious. The Saints have so far got a 3-1 edge over the Blues - so go into this game as heavy favourites. But as with any rivalry - form going in counts for nothing as it comes down to which side is wants it more.

Prediction: Blues to win back the PA Cup. 2 goals.

Division 1 Games:

Broadview Hawks V Guelph Gargoyles: This will be the Hawks first home game for the season and they will be pumped to give their home crowd a big win. The Gargoyles have not met any serious opopsition to date if you believe the talk of the Roos demise. However we don't buy that for a second. The Roos were undefeated in 2009 before they lost in the Grand Final - so we still rate the Roos as being one of the best clubs going around, so the Goyles win counts for plenty here. The Gargoyles have a way of wearing down opposition sides with their hard at it approach, while the Hawks are more of a skills based running side. Will be a great show for all spectators either way.

Prediction: Gargoyles to show their hand as being a potential top 3 side in 2010. Goyles by 5 goals.

Toronto Dingos V Toronto Rebels:  This should be a cracker of a game as both these sides play a very similar style of play - with some hardhitters coupled with a few ultra-skillful players. These sides also have a combined Div 2 side in the Rebel Dogs, so to these them matched up against each other in the Div 1s adds to the theatre as each club looks to get one up on the other. Will be a very close game.

Prediction: We're tipping the Dingos in this one - but only just. 2 goals.

Etobicoke Kangaroos V Hamilton Wildcats: As mentioned before the Roos have been under the pump with the media. But rest assured this club which has featured in the last two Grand Finals will not be going down without a fight. While the Wildcats after going down to the Blues last week will also be looking to getting their season back on a winning tack will be just as desperate. It will be interesting to see what the Roos coach pulls out of the hat as he looks to get his team firing the way he wants them to.

Prediction: Massive 50-50 game. But after seeing the Wildcats up close last week, we're going with them. Wildcats by 1 goal.

High Park Demons V Ottawa Swans: The Demons put up one hell of a fight last week against the Dingos to nearly pull off one of the upsets of the season only to fall short right at the end. The Swans had thei result shoved down their throat by a ridiculous dominant Toronto Eagles outfit intent on reminding the league just how good they are (in case anyone forgot). In either case this game gives the opportunity for these two sides to get their first win of the season. Martin Walter and his team are obviously having a positive impact down at Demon land as they continue to be much more competitive in 2010 as compared to the nightmarish 2009.

Prediction: We're tipping a draw here.

Central Blues V Toronto Eagles: Seriously this has to be Match of the Round and not just because you're reading it on www.bluesafc.ca. Two undefeated sides, one a proven champion club, while the other being an aspiring Champion in the Blues. The Eagles travelled to Ottawa last round to demolish the Swans mercilessly, while the Blues defeated a strong Wildcats side. Either case both clubs have been eyeing each other off for a while. The Blues have never defeated the Eagles and will be desperate to get this monkey off their back. Sone V Jitters looms to be one of the most exciting match ups in this game - with these two premier ruckman being barometers as to how their respective teams are travelling. Not often you see these guys play well and their sides losing... well the Eagles rarely lose... but for the sake of this article we'll leave it at that.

This game will be played following the Hawks v Gargoyles game as UTSC hosts a triple header (with the Blues 2s playing the Quebec Saints following the Blues v Eagles game) in a massive day of footy.

Prediction: We would be fired from our jobs if we did not tip the Blues here. Blues by 3 goals.
