Aside from being a player from day 1 - Chaps has had a huge influence off the field establishing the clubs off field operations and helping set up what has to be one of the most well run club executives in the league. His efforts in helping set up the club was illustrated with his winning the club's famed Heart Award in 2006 for the efforts and commitment to the club. Reaching this milestone is especially sweet given he sat out of club's entire inaugural season in 2006 season due to a knee injury. The injury was unfortunately sustained in the club's final training session before its first official game in the OAFL. He has also been one of the biggest 5th quarter players the club has seen winning the Blues 5th Quarter Award back to back in 2007 and 2008. Chapman stepped down from the club executive in an effort to allow fresh blood onto the club executive and to concentrate on his footy in 2010. However he still remains involved in the running of the club in assisting with social planning as well as working on the club website. The club would like to thank Rob Chapman for his contributions both on the field and off the field. The club faces the Toronto Eagles, with both clubs going into this game undefeated - in what will be one of the biggest games of the round. So the boys will be chomping at the bit for this game and the opportunity to reward Chapman with a memorable 50th milestone game. |
