The Central Blues executive committee is pleased to announce the appointment of the division 1 coaching staff for the 2013 season. New head coach Simon Harwood will be joined by assistant Daniel Wills in the pursuit of AFL Ontario's 2013 premiership. Simon comes to the club with eight years of competitive senior football experience in Australia, including the North Ballarat Roosters for 2004 and three years at EFL Division 1's East Burwood Football Club. He then played four years for his old collegians side North Old Boys St Patricks College Football Club, based in Melbourne's northern suburb Brunswick while competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association's Division 1. In three instances his club made preliminary finals during this time while Simon acted as club captain for 2010-2011 until retiring at the end of 2011 due to injury. In 2012, he stuck with the club as pre-season fitness coach and player mentor as their seniors went on to win a D1 premiership to earn a promotion to VAFA's Premier C competition. Daniel "Willsy" Wills was the Blues player-coach during 2012, winning the club's second straight Best & Fairest award along with lead goalkicker as a ruck-rover. As a player he has won premierships at Oakleigh Krushers (VAFA D3 2004) and Bentleigh Demons (VAFA D3 2009.) Congratulations to Simon and Willsy who will form a great coaching duo using their vast amount of footy experience. < Prev   Next >
