Central Blues Australian Football Club

The Blues' women have had an amazing season and one of the many people tracking their success online has been last year's captain Rochelle Allan. Rochelle has been in Australia since May and while she has missed playing with the Blues, her time in Brisbane has taught her a lot about Australian football both on and off the field.

For the last few months Rochelle has been training with the Yeronga Devils, a women’s team currently at the top of the ladder in the Brisbane Women’s competition. With just a few weeks before Rochelle heads down to Sydney for the start of the IC2011 she is getting in as many games as possible. This past weekend Rochelle played for both the Yeronga Devils and the Kedron Lions.

Beyond working on her skills, thanks to ALFQ, Rochelle has also had the opportunity to learn about development and coaching. She has been able to assist the Calamvale under 15 girls team and the Gold Coast under 18 team that competed at the state championship this past weekend. It has been an exciting trip for the Blues' player who has gotten to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef and kick a footy on the Brisbane Lions home ground. Everyone following the Blues women knows there is a lot more excitement to come this season and Rochelle is excited to bring her experiences and some new drills home to the Blues.
